Hello mommy!

I love you! I hope you are very well.

I want to recommend that you listen to Hakuna. They are a Catholic music group, and they are one of the youngest artists in this genre. The lyrics of their songs are the most beautiful that I have ever listened to in my life. I also like Athenas and Batah, but I think Hakuna has more modern rhythms than them, and their music is more emotional than many other Catholic songs.

In my opinion, “La fila” is the most moving song because it speaks about Christ’s love in the deepest way. Its message is stronger than other songs, and it helps me feel closer to God.

I believe modern art is as meaningful as classical art, but sometimes it is more accessible to young people. For me, Hakuna is the most inspiring group I know because they are more prayerful than other artists and have a stronger connection with youth.

Athenas is older than Hakuna, and she has more recorded songs. However, at present Athenas is less listened to than Hakuna.

I hope you listen to them and like them.

With all my love,

Andrea.

Step 2

Hello everyone! My name is Andrea Katherinne Ramírez Sánchez.  I am going to share my blog about my personal tastes in painting and sculpture. I invite you to join this interesting tour.

1.           What type of art did you use to enjoy when you were a child, and now, how has your taste changed?

When I was a child, I used to enjoy the pictures of the Virgin Mary and sculptures of saints in churches. I used to gaze at each detail with dedication. In my teens, I liked paintings of landscapes and fruit bowls. Now, I love theological iconography.

2.           How long have you followed a specific author or artist?

I have never followed a specific author or artist. I like to explore a little of everything.

3.           Which is more expressive: painting or sculpture?

I think painting is more expressive than sculpture because it is easier to put details such as a background that enriches the image. However, sculpture is generally more realistic.

4.           What is the most challenging physical activity you have ever done for your health?

I have not done physical activities focused on my health. However, it was very challenging for me to stop eating sugar, even though I love it, because I used to feel dizzy frequently.

5.           What had you learned about art before you visited a museum?

I have never visited an art museum in person. I have only visited museums online. Before visiting them, I had learned in high school about famous artists such as Michelangelo, Andrea del Sarto, Leonardo da Vinci, Van Gogh, among others, as well as some of their artworks and a little about their lives. Likewise, I had learned to paint lights and shadows in oil paintings of fruit bowls. Also, I had learned to draw faces and the human body.

Besides, in my first semester at university, I learned that theological iconography involves painting as a form of prayer. Each color and each brushstroke have a special meaning in the artwork. For us as viewers it is a rich experience of contemplation and meditation to understand the meaning of each detail in the painting. The painter is seen as an instrument, while God is the one who inspires the creation of the image.
